That's really unfortunate, Ayashimon was super fun to read and I was really excited to see more of the youkai underworld.

What a shame. I really liked the manga but it ended up suffering from the same problem as Phantom Seer. I feel like there's not much space for urban fantasy in Shounen Jump right now, not with Jujutsu Kaisen abstolutely dominating the magazine. Something like Witch Watch can survive since it's a romcom but a straight up battle shounen needs something else to survive. Chainsawman was hectic, chaotic so it felt new and fresh and Kimetsu no Yaiba had the taisho setting.
Ah, well... what a shame. I liked Ayashimon and loved Jigokuraku so I hope Yuji Kaku's next manga can last longer.

Not a surprise to be honest. The series has been struggle for awhile now. The manga problems were several and the authors just can't fix those problems after six months of serialization.
1. Terrible MC. Marou is such a bland MC that I was amaze about how bland he was. His entire character revolve around manga and wanting to fight. Both of these traits cannot carry a MC. Plus his life goal already been achieved since chapter 1 so there not much incentive to follow him. Even if he lost he still already achieved his dream.
2. Boring fights: Most fights in the manga are just "punch harder", MC punches and he wins, if he can't punches then he loses. Their no suspended.
3. Bad characters interactions: This tie with the bad MC stuffs, Marou interaction with other characters is just bad since he can only talk about manga and Shonen heroes while everyone just dismiss him whenever he talk about those things.

While i enjoy it so far, i'm not surprise, it was clearly not meant to be long running from the start.

I'm not surprised, honestly, I don't think it was particularly good or interesting. Definitely not even close to be on the same level as Jigokuraku. I hope that Kaku's next manga will be a more worthy follow-up to that...

A shame but not too surprising unfortunately. It never really gripped me like Jigokaraku did, I think Maruo was just too bleh as a protag and the fights never got too interesting. None of the new series this year have been too interesting really, other than Akane-banashi. And if that gets canceled I'll seriously riot.
