Vash looks a little too pretty for my tastes.

Don’t worry let him take off his coat and get a look at all those gnarly scars.

Ikeda's a good choice for Knives.

Looks like they're taking bits and pieces here and there from Maximum too. Makes me wonder if it'll be set during Vash's younger days. Could explain why Vash doesn't look he typically does.

Vash's redesign will take some getting used to.

Also, Matsuoka? Ikeda? Maaya Sakamoto!? Okay then.

Actually, if it's a prequel, is that why none of the rest of the cast are announced for this? Like, you gotta have Wolfwood!

Never watched the original Trigun (yet) but a full Orange series with human characters is gonna be very interesting. The trailer already looks really good so that has my hopes up

I still would have preferred it done in 2D, but it looks better than I was expecting. Here's hoping it turns out well!

Back when this was announced... it was announced that the cast would be new. When I read that, I was disappointed (because the current seiyuu are still active)... then jokingly laughed like a mad man and said to myself: "No way they get Yuuki Kaji or Yoshitsugu Matsuoka to voice Vash."

I have no words.

Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem

The only worthy replacement.

Trigun is one of my favs, but I don't really know how to feel about this.

Is this supposed to be some reboot, a prequel, what? Also CGI anime still hardly works for me. The original series still looks better than this. Vash's redesign is also an odd choice.

I'm hoping they also get the original cast back for the dub, because Trigun is like Bebop to me. One of those series I actually prefer the dub for.

It looks like a reboot-prequel. Vash doesn't have his proper bounty, looks way younger than he should, doesn't have his iconic haircut or look and they're clearly drawing from the backstory in Maximum.

EDIT: Plus we don't have VAs listed for Wolfwood, Milly or Meryl by now who we probably would if it were a straight reboot.

I really don't like the redesign. He looks like some Tiktok eboy, he's practically unrecognizable. Even the dreaded 2020 reboot of Digimon Adventure kept the hairstyles and basic silhouettes. I've been wanting a manga-faithful reboot but I know beggars can't be choosers. I will say that the animation looks gorgeous, and this is coming from someone who loathes CGI in anime.

If this is a prequel I'm hoping this new design is just meant to be Vash's awkward teen years and he eventually ends up with the design we know and love somewhere in the story.

Yeah, the animation and coloring itself looks striking, putting the redesign aside (I think it's got potential, just knew that people would immediately complain about the lacking spiked hair since his design is iconic for us old fans), I think the animation itself actually looks really promising and smooth and very expressive for non-big-budget movie anime CG. As expected from Orange.

Looking forward to this and ready for some fun gunslinger action (still pretty rare in anime), especially if they actually get Johnny back voicing Vash again, like they need to, given this was such a huge hit here (even getting him back for the movie last time).
