I know it's just a teaser, but it looks pretty good so far. I like the models especially. I'm not a Slam Dunk fan, but regardless of if this turns out good I could see myself wanting to consume Slam Dunk in any form.

Looks the part. The First Slam Dunk. Hm. The issue with the 90s anime was its lack of final arc. (And the slow pacing. The filler eps were fine.) Not that the manga offers much more finality. I prefer exploring the later stages of the plot.

I should have imagined they'd go the CG route, since Inoue's detailed, realistic character designs are very tough to pull off in hand-drawn animation. Unless Toei employed an all-star team of animators, they'd either have to sacrifice detail in order to make the animation more fluid or sacrifice fluidity in order to make the character art more detailed. Still, I'm worried that the CG models might not do justice to Inoue's amazing facial expressions, even with him overseeing every frame.

CG will continue until it reaches its goal of being able to perfectly mimic 2D animation. And well, they’re getting closer but not quite there yet.

And in terms of fairness in gender equality, basketball is known for pats in the butt, but can a guy pat a girl's butt

I only remember two female characters here. Same with Kuroko's Basketball if I recall. Guess there is law.
