Very glad this is finally airing, but happier that the block is getting another new show to run. I'm not particularly excited for S2, given how lackluster and even annoyed that I felt by S1's second half, but I'll still watch regardless!

I've seen the show to it's conclusion & it's probably the most disappointing project I've followed in quite some time. From what I understand the show was absolutely in development hell even during production, with different factions arguing on everything from who the "final boss" should be, should the final battle take place in the modern or feudal era, & more, and this was ultimately exasperated by the Sunrise/Bandai merger which gutted the team's funding & resulted in the team cutting the show short & working on the last few episodes while their office was being dismantled.

That said, I'm glad to see it on Toonami for completionist's sake.

Also, the manga adaptation is out now in the west & though I haven't read it yet I've heard it's much better realized (Moroha is older than the twins, Moroha & Setsuna grew up together which causes some tension with Towa trying to reconnect with her sister, the OG characters who are still around like Miroku & Koga, the latter of which doesn't even appear in the anime, apparently take much more of an active interest in the girls' quest, etc.).

I wish. But unfortunately, Jason DeMarco had already stated that Toonami will not be able to get the rights to it, thanks to Sony, so I doubt that's going to change anytime in the future. x.x

I recommend new anime fans to watch the original Inu Yasha series includiing all the movies first and then Yashahime.

Inu Yasha is masterpiece story telling by Takahashi sensei and one of my most favourite manga/anime ever.

These two seasons of Yashahime are more for the nostalgia factor for old timer anime fans like me. Imagine jumping up in hype at 28 years of age when reading that a sequel is going to be released almost a decade after the story had a definitive ending.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of this "it'll never ever happen" talk, especially since Toonami has defied their own transparent expectations regarding show pickups more than once. I have faith Sony will lighten up enough in the future to play ball once more, but as far as the next year or two are concerned, I'll agree that it's a no go.

I really enjoyed Yashahime and remain baffled by the sheer venom directed at it.

(No, I'm not asking for an explanation - just to the other Yashahime fans out there: I feel you)
