The nightscapes in this series are wonderful in their choice of lighting and color.

The visuals are stunning, the night sky has never looked more beautiful, the bloodsucking is as raunchy as ever, the characters are memorable and interesting, the VA work is phenomenal, and the build up of the relationship of the leads is going swimmingly.

What more could you want?

I absolutely love the cityscapes at night in this series. The colors are marvelous and I find myself wanting to join Ko on his journey through the semi-abandoned streets and parks of the city. The animators are doing a great job of making the night itself a character in this show.

Plus the openings and closings just bang, with my favorite part of the opening being the moment in which the music goes quiet and we get a glimpse of the cast to come, only to have the music and the visuals upend everyone and bring us back to Ko and Nazuna soaring through their beloved night. Just breathtaking animation and storyboarding.

I'm enjoying the story so far, and I appreciate the usage of music, but it's the visuals that are really blowing me away. The use of colors is really quite something. I'm sure the first two episodes were the same, but I was really taken in by them in the third episode.
The manga seems to be pretty far along based on the chapter count, so I imagine we won't come close to catching up, so I really hope we get a second season if this quality continues as I don't think I can jump to the black and white manga after this!

I'm starting to think Nazuna completely made up the excuse about falling in love being a requirement to become a vampire because she doesn't act like she's ever been deeply in love with someone. Although she can understand Ko feeling lust.

Meanwhile, Ko seems to think becoming a vampire will solve all his personal problems by giving him an excuse to ignore them, which...doesn't seem like a proper answer?

Seems like everything Nazuna owns is from the late 90's/early 2000's.

Akira took finding out about Ko wanting to become a vampire a lot better than I expected. I guess so long as he's still willing to go to school...and it seems like vampire's aren't effected by sunlight.

^^Had the same thought and whether Nazuna having been "in love" with a vampire before Ko would eventually figure into their relationship. But if what she said were true, the way she acts seems to belie that she fell in love and was used/dumped by said vampire, leaving her still a lovestruck if somewhat jaded young woman. And would said vampire come calling eventually?

Or maybe they will take the narrative tack that some recent literature has in postulating that vampirism is a viral disease and maybe some people have natural immunity? In which case Nazuna just assumed or made up that her being turned into a vampire was because she was in love with one.

It's also possible that Nazuna was born a vampire or that there's another method that she doesn't want to share for one reason or another (presuming the love thing is even true).

Am I the only one who found the prospect of Ko bring made to massage an older woman creepy? The one time I expect outrage from ANN and they let me down.

Seriously I really hope the massage thing doesn't last too long next episode.

Even vampires get listless. Also, seems like vampires aren't killed by the sun (though it seems like they still sleep during the day) but they also can't see their reflections in mirrors.

Long-haired Nazuna is too powerful for words. I didn't expect such a strong contrast with her usual looks. She looks amazing! I hope this isn't the last time she lets her hair down.

Nurse Nazuna with those thighs...wow. And massage service? She's an effective businesswoman.

I'm kind of amazed they got Yoko Hikasa to play a bit character just showing up out of the blue.

Nothing sells a job quite like money and the promise of a kiss.

Outrage only occurs when the sexes are reversed. Kinda like how if Kou was a 14 year old girl instead and Nazuna was instead a 40 year old male vampire it'd cause all sorts of uproar starting from the first episode.

I don't really see a problem, there's no need for an outrage. Is it because he's male? (I'm really curious, serious question btw) I can't say anything that happens next episode since it would be spoiler but I don't remember the massage taking too long so there shouldn't be any problem

It's an underage male being coerced into providing a massage to an adult woman. It's just a little creepy. Mostly I was joking about how this is usually the kind of thing ANN reviewers would freak out about.

Oh, I see, thanks for the clarification. Yeah, I've seen reviewers hating and denouncing those things and treating them as grave offenses against humanity Laughing

However this anime shouldn't have that problem, mostly.... I guess.....
