Weird how they credited Netflix Asia instead of Netflix Anime like the usual.

Also, I personally think the CGI is ok, it's the character designs (artstyle) that look weird. Is it just me or does anyone else think the same?

It's certainly more interesting visually than the usual disposable 3D anime, although the movement still leaves a lot to be desired.

It looks... weird.

Also, the teaser poster with the red background conveyed the horror tone this anime wants to have better than the teaser trailer did.

I feel like the premise, cast, and designs are good enough but the quality of CG is less than desirable.

Well, after the initial disappointment that this is not going to be 2D after all (seriously, what's with Sci-fi anime being all the time CGI??? I miss the days when we had all those wonderful sci-fi ovas/movies like Armitage, Patlabor or GITS that were fully handrawn...) I must say that I knida got used to it by the end of the trailer and I ended up kinda liking it. It certainly looks unique as other have pointed out but in a good way. Kinda reminds me of Arcane (obviously the budget here is nowhere near Arcane's, but then again, probably there isn't anything out there with that level). Also, considering how utterly abyssmal this year has been anime-wise I certainly welcome a good ol' sci-fi horror mystery with a unique aestethic...

So at first I was like "eh, CG, whatever, if it's decent and the story is good it won't bother me" - but then I saw the name "Yoshitaka Amano" and the animation quality in the trailer, and I'm just so terribly disappointed.

The crap animation quality is one thing. But they get an artist like Amano, someone who has a graceful, intricate, otherworldly style, to create designs that are adapted to screen looking like early 3D CG attempts from the early '90s, and animated much the same way? Just... why. This bothers me a lot because, well, just look at the thing. If it was just regular basic, boring designs, I could live with it because the story sounds interesting. But this... :/

So the horror part is the animation itself? I can only take one fugly CGI anime in my life and this is not it. I guess it'll be a hard pass.

Amano's style is too difficult to animate well without spending a lot of money to do so. It's too stylized.
