The past few ANN stories have been about a number of light novel-based anime having their premiere dates. I know that such anime are often from Kadokawa titles and that Kadokawa is the main owner of ANN now. However, is it coincidental or intentional that currently (as I write this) the past 5 ANN stories are about such anime?

Hard to say. This website usually releases its articles after sourcing from its usual range of websites and other media, and this article is no different since it's the official franchise website and Comic Natalie (one of this website's regular grabs for info) that have been scoured to generate the news article.

If the buyout hadn't taken place, it's quite likely this article would have been created anyway using the exact same sources.

Its not ANN's fault that those shows released their trailers/news near each other.

Very dumb joke: Who's Mitsuha's favorite light novel protagonist?

Instant Death is Earth Star, 80K Gold is Kodansha, and Reborn to Master the Blade is Hobby Japan, all of which are competitors of Kadokawa.
