World Stars *was* on hiatus between April 2018 and April 2021 but looking at the time, you can probably figure out it has nothing to do with the war. When the war did break out, it happen to be in the middle of a mini-arc for England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland, so no need to take time off.

Hetalia has a huge cast, a growing one too. So it can always rotate between characters when stuff happens. But mini-arcs and other stuff are planned ahead of time, likely. Take ASEAN's debut in May/June 2021, the characters were already finished with their design by December 2020 at the latest since they appeared in the Comic Market anthology.

Mangaka getting sick is quite common, not a good thing obviously, but their work environment is not very good. Hima, based on the materials in the Collezione, sleeps 4 hours a day or something. He is also turning 40 in 2025. I am kind of not surprised Sad

I was not aware of when the hiatus took place,I just assumed that it was due to the war. And yeah, mangaka seem to be getting sick fairly often. What a hectic life.
