Come to think of it I guess it's kind of weird there's been multi-property crossover trading card games for years and none of them were Bandai's.
There was Sunrise Crusade, which I guess kind of counts? And Super Robot Wars Crusade, all tied to the now dead Gundam card system that was around. Clearly limited in scope though.

Victory Spark was better, that was the end all be all of Otaku card games. The shock and awe of the franchises represented in that card game still surprise me to this day.

I don't play card games, but if I did, this would be tempting.

There is Weiß Schwarz. I remember looking at some cards back when the game first came out and it seemed complicating. Nobody in my community was playing it so I didn't bother getting into it. I was busy with Yugioh at the time anyway. After looking it up just now for this comment I was surprised to see it's still going on. It's apparently popular in Japan.

Weiß Schwarz is relatively popular in Southeast Asia. I often find people that play YuGiOh or Vanguard also have WS.

I buy the cards for the illustrations, not the game itself. Madoka Magica and others.

Interesting. I wonder if you can make mixed decks or just have to stick to each series when building a deck.
Might be fun to pick up a few random packs if I see them next time I'm there.

Doesn't MHA already have a card game?
They'll be splitting the player base.

It also has some popularity in parts of Southern California. Yeah, the rules are weird, having come to it having previously played, Magic, Pokemon, DBS, Warlord, VS, Young Jedi, pretty much anything that was popular but YuGiOh, I found the rules to be calvinball until I played some games with someone who knew them.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the local Wiess scene if this takes off, but I suspect most Weiss buyers are in for the lottery cards.

If its anything like Crusade, mixed decks are probably a thing. You'd just probably have to plan around it; I remember running SRW/Macross and it was definetly an experince.
