Is the series really that popular? Having watched the 90s version, the Deen version kinda bored back in season 1 especially with how Azarie keeps playing with Orphen.

It's in the no.8 in the best selling light novel series of all time so yeah it is popular.

It does not have the same level of popularity as it once did back in the 90s and it was never really big in the western market but in japan it was and still is very popular.

This show is so mid, I don't know how it keeps getting more seasons. It's also not animated very well, and yes I will be watching the new season...

Wow, this is a nice surprise! I really wish J Novel would make physical omnibuses of the light novel, still digital only.

The original 90s show was way better (well, not Revenge), but I'll keep watching this version. It already looks more promising than season 2.

I haven't read the books myself, but it looks like the anime's story will be getting fairly close to the end of the novels once the new season finishes this arc. It wouldn't surprise me if a 4th season pops up in another year or two to wrap up the last few volumes, considering they've already gotten this far in.

Anyway, I've enjoyed the first two seasons, so I'll gladly continue to watch. Smile

I much more prefer the visual style of the original. Also while the dub isn't that good, the casting was. I wish they would have brought that cast back or at least recast everyone, keeping David is weird(and yes I know that's what they did in JP). I thought Revenge was OK, if mostly unmemorable.

season 1 and 2 were really good and sad that some sees DEEN not doing their best on it despite being what were focusing on primarily mostly and special effects looked good and some fights as well.

How does this show keep getting new seasons? IT’s so Low-Mid. Don’t get me wrong I loved the original Anime, especially Season 2 but oh my god this new series is… Well trash.

Maybe it's well-received in Japan?

I remember watching the 90s anime when I was in elementary school many years ago, but I haven't seen this new version. I think it'll give it a try if Crunchyroll would announce a Neutral Spanish dub, though I imagine it would be difficult to bring the original voices back since the 90s anime was dubbed in Chile and Crunchyroll only dubs their shows into Neutral Spanish in Mexico.

It's clear they keep making new anime seasons because it's driving up sales of the light novels. Having never watched the original anime, I've enjoyed my time with the reboot. It's not the best anime ever but it has an entertaining cast and I like magic scenes and I enjoyed the dub and it's refreshing to have an old school fantasy kind of show that isn't an isekai. I'll be very happy if they adapt the whole series.
