This is Yuasa's first Globe nod. So, congratulations. OTOH, Globes still don't mean Oscar noms.

I was planning on seeing it but it was in my local cinemas for barely a week...

Ninten: I think it's available on digital on the 20th.

Honestly a weak year. Pinocchio was good, but nothing special beyond the animation (which was GODLY). The songs especially were beyond horrible. Turning Red was okay but again, didn't really do much special. Unfortunately Inu-Oh didn't air anywhere near me so I can't really comment on that but I'm glad at least one anime is nominated

Awesome, I look forward to watching them lose to Pixar.

Del Toro might have a small shot being a name and Oscar winner, but Turning Red being an incredibly weak film doesn’t mean much to award shows that just see the logo.

Don't you guys think you're being subjective towards that film that was a fresh breath of air for Pixar movies?

I wouldn't call Turning Red a weak film at all. It's not the kind of movie that deserves waves of praise, but the way that it tackles it's themes is way better than people are giving it credit for.

And it's just a generally funny movie.
