Yep the Anime still sucks...sighmy attempts to get introduced to the manga from the anime are now shattered sadly.

I found it odd that they made Jack the Ripper to be the worst of his kind in history as I'm sure the there were far worst in reality, but I'm guessing it helped that he was from the 19th century.
I hope we don't get a pattern where any current deities can't lose to avoid offense. Better to stick with the ancient world deities if that's the case.

Overall I still had fun with this season, but I think stretching two fights to 10 episodes was a bit much.

Regarding the stretching...well, there is no stretching, fights do take forever in the manga too.

The anime it's actually skipping stuff, season 1 specially, there is actually not enough material for season 3 since we are middle point of the second fight after Buddha's.

I quite frankly read it for the flashbacks, I like them more than the fights.

Of all the deities listed in the fighting lineup, the only current one was Shiva (and arguably Buddha, but Buddhists view him as a philosopher, not a god), and he got the show banned in India (still didn’t stop the show from being one of the most viewed pieces of animation of Netflix in a good long while). Furthermore, it feels like a lot of changes from religious texts and myths seem to be done with the intent of creating a separation from modern believers.

Umm season 2 isnt quite over yet so isn't it better to wait for the last few episodes to drop before making a full review of season 2?

or the opposite since more people can read the manga because of the anime.

I agree that there does seem to be a goal of separation, but as I said, I hope it doesn't lead to a predictable pattern regardless. Two cases aren't enough for a pattern, but can be the start. Just something that came to mind while watching.

It's a criticism of the material as a whole not just the quality of the show. Hence "the premise is wearing thin".
