Gonna be honest, I don’t trust any film labeled “The beginning.” Case in point, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, but doesn’t continue because it never got a sequel. As annoying as the Knights branding can be, at least it doesn’t press that specific button.

Looks like we're getting an accurate Marin and Ryu Sei Ken.
Was not expecting Marin though. And I can't really make out who Seiya is fighting at the end. Not Ikki?

Reading up on the film’s bad reception easy to see why it didn’t get a sequel.

Sort of. If we actually look at the title splash used in the trailer itself we see "Knights of the Zodiac" written out in katakana above the kanji generally used for "Saint Seiya", so for all intents & purposes Toei is still technically calling it "Knights of the Zodiac: The Beginning", but are using the OG kanji to help market it to fans in Japan.
Sneaky, but clever.

Another live-action Mark Dacascos manga movie getting an overseas release before the American one. Hopefully, unlike Crying Freeman, we won't have to wait 20 years to see it, and it won't be straight-to-Prime.

Is anyone else a bit concerned that there is barely any hype for this movie?
Yes, I get that live-action adaptations of anime aren't very good (looking at you, Dragon Ball: Evolution), but the fact at least this adaptation is barely getting any hype despite making a genuine attempt to stay true to the source material isn't painting a good picture for the movie.

There's a decent chance KOTZ/Saint Seiya might actually get better reviews than Quantumania, which is currently sitting at 53% at Rotten Tomatoes. I want this to be good, but summer is a packed time at the theaters and it seems Sony hasn't done much besides the one trailer, but that could be anything from worries about quality to the IP not having much reach in the US.

well,The Last Airbender and Dragon Ball Evolution also believed there would be more with those sequel bait ending scenes...Guess the people behind those are always too naive to learn their lesson...

But should there be, though? I mean, we already have the widely successful anime and spin-offs. Live-action is never going to be as good as an animated adaption of a comic which can perfectly capture the look and feel of the source material. So while it's commendable if a director actually cares about the source material for a change rather than just using it to springboard their own writing and 'original' take on a franchise it feels like at best it would just shift the question over to "Okay... and?"
The ultimate question any live-action adaption of a manga has to answer is "Why should people watch this over the anime that already exists?" Perhaps it's the very definition of Suffering From Success because the anime and manga industry is such a well oiled machine with excellent synergy, but I can't think of a reason for this film to exist when one can just watch the anime that was a worldwide hit everywhere (except the United States) Maybe it'll be worth a watch, but is it really worth "hype"? The only time I can see that being the case is if it's something like Gunnm where the Battle Angel Alita movie was the only real chance to see these characters move and speak outside the 2 episode OVA. It's also not like American comic books where they never get proper animated adaptions so people only have the live-action films to really get a version of the character that isn't aimed at pre-school aged kids.
Ultimately, I feel these live-action adaptions are a novelty. A fun experiment of what someone would look like in real life. Don't know about 'hype' though.

Aside from the fact that the original anime much line it’s manga is old? There’s multiple follow ups? Or the fact there’s a contingent of people who see animation as being primarily for kids….even when the material in question is designed for much older audiences.
