Another old school seiyuu passes away. Iizuka voiced many characters in series I liked such as Gundam, DBZ, Kingdom Hearts, original 1998 Yu-Gi-Oh! as Zorc. and just many other series. I know his family can get through this. Thank you for helping anime be great.

RIP

Rest in Peace to a first generation anime voice actor. He was still working until very recently.

May he rest in peace. Izuka had also many roles in various Tokusatsu shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, and he even voiced video game characters like Dr. Light in Mega Man 8

Yeah, he had some important roles in recent anime like Baki and The Seven Deadly Sins. I think it is very admirable that Shozo has had such a long career.

What an amazing voice. He played powerful villains, but sometimes played gentle characters like Cyborg #8 and Yama no Fudō brilliantly.

He will be missed greatly.

Iizuka-san's role as Genya Tachibana was one of my favorites. I'm sorry to read this news, and I hope his friends, family, and fans will be okay.

He was so close to turn 90 this year, I really like his performance from the Super Sentai Franchise. He will be totally missed.

Another longtime seiyuu has left us. He was one of the oldest still in the business alongside Joji Yanami. What a trooper. He'll be missed. Goodbye, Nappa, Barraggan, and Enki.
