Me: "I've seen the name of this series, I wonder what it's about?"

> Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who's in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he's about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense!

Me: "Hmm, that sounds a bit tame. Let me go look it up elsewhere"

*Reads some of the plot off Wikipedia*

Me: "Okay, that summary leaves a lot out and gives an entirely different impression of the series."

I'm super hyped about this. Oshi no Ko is the first manga I purchased and read. Can't wait! It's definitely going to be crazy, lol

I'm surprised they went with popular seiyuu with Mem-cho instead of getting some popular V-tuber, for example. Also interesting how they showed a lot of post-timeskip stuff in the PV but avoided any spoilers.

This definitely looks like a very interesting series with a very colorful cast.

You can't be serious. Vtubers are just content creators that use a model of some kind. While there are those that work as professional actors, the vast majority are not. If you want your production to be of the highest quality possible with the limited resources available, you go for the people that can act well enough to earn the part first and foremost over any other casting option.

For an example of what happens when you don't use act ability as the primary criteria for casting, you can look at the Love Live franchise which features well below average acting ability. A deliberate choice to allow fans to feel closer to the idols being sold to them.

An extended 90-minute version of the first episode will play in advance screenings at cinemas nationwide in Japan starting this Friday, March 17.

Might be best to edit this to the past tense -- something like "has been playing in…since Friday".

I know this is going to be one of the last debuts of the season, and I really hope everything else going on doesn't overshadow Aka and Mengo's Wild Ride.

At this point in the Type-Moon continuum, Elisabeth Bathory might as well be a VTuber anyway, so it all works out.
