It's a bizarre bumble from a company with the media presence and promotional power like Disney, especially picking up big names like Tokyo Revengers there, as well as Bleach and this, a highly anticipated Production I.G adaptation of popular manga Heavenly Delusion.

It becomes less bizarre when you rationalize it simply as this. They just don't care about promoting their anime.

Looks like there's an extra <i> tag in there making the whole document italicized.

It cannot be a coincidence that Kona's fish drawing shows up as a monster two episodes later, but it's anyone's guess when or if that will be explained.

As I told my wife while watching the show: just about everything has an explanation, but rarely do you want to know what it is. This case is no exception!

The only way I am finding out if Disney is streaming something, is checking Twitter for anime news. Beyond that there is hardly any news at all or any form of promotion.

Disney wants anime but seems to think that it's too niche and doesn't want to spend money on promoting any of it. They let VIZ do all the work with Bleach and even they didn't do much.

It being listed under Romanji name, instead if Heavenly Delusion, is what got me, as whenever I searched for it on Hulu, it would not pop up. Plus, for some reason it is incredibly hard to find in their anime section.

It's a shame. I really wanted to watch it. But I won't buy a D+ subscription just for it. I'll just wait until it's available on another streaming service such as Netflix. If it's not, well, I won't watch it.

I would like to understand what's going on in Heavenly Delusion but it's impossible to watch the show because Hulu's subtitles are so badly timed it's impossible to follow the show.

Like any other company, Disney is only taking an interest in anime for the money--it's getting more and more popular, so they're testing the waters to see if it's worth more investment, same as Amazon. But they also don't really understand anime or why people like it, so they're kinda just picking one or two shows at random each season, and leaving it up to word-of-mouth because they have no idea how to promote them... especially when it's something as weird as Heavenly Delusion.

Even though this show seems interesting, I can't feel motivated to sign up for a new service to watch one show with janky subtitles. Have to wait until it's out in some other format.

I didn't notice any issues with the timing of the subtitles on Hulu when watching it on my computer.

I sure am glad I don't need to worry about who is streaming what, when and in what condition. While watching all this intriguing weirdness I didn't think many people would be having so much trouble.

Anyway, gotta love how Disney keeps licensing like one show per season and it's always the most off-brand one available.

I'm only caught up to episode 3 since I'm watching with the English dub, which seems to be missing from episode 4 as of last night on Disney+ Philippines. ISTR an article here about the dub cast from a week or two ago, so it's not a same-day dub release?

Same here. (The subtitles being stuck in CC-like mode is still annoying, however.)

At least on the first episode the subs were sometimes 30 seconds ahead and I just gave up and some other people on AniTwtitter I follow had those issues too and the subs were going by too fast to keep up with. Maybe they've fixed it since it first dropped? The dub is out now in any case so I'll be checking the dub out.

Episode 4's English dub is now on Disney+ Philippines...with audio description voice over. Is this happening for anyone else?
