A studio executive? Really? Doesn't this sound something like making David Zaslav the president of the WGA?

Association for Improving Awareness? Everybody is already aware, how about an Association for Improving Working Conditions instead.

I'm going to point out that he's a former Studio Executive.

People who read ANN and similar sites are aware. Your average anime consumer is not. When I tell anime fans how much some animators make, many are often extremely surprised.

Creating awareness is a part of improving conditions.

On a better note though, conditions are improving slowly. Right now the shortage of production capacity (compared to demand) has allowed the animation studios to demand higher fees for producing anime, and that is reaching many of the animators.

There's still a long way to go though, and there's no guaranty that these small gains will be maintained if/when the balance of power shifts the other way again.
