If you wanted more Megumin, more Crimson Magic Clan, and more Konosuba style humor, this show has it in plenty.

It is kind of nice to see that A. Yunyun had actual friends and B. Megumin at least tried to be friends with her in true tsundere fashion.

The series its funnier if you know who the town's founder is.

You see a ton of hints and stuff that makes no sense spoiler[unless there is a Japanese involved, like the old school gym clothes.]

Have seen Ep 1-3 so far and while I think it quite funny if lower key than Konosuba main, having seen the Ep1 English dub, I think the VA's contribution to the humor is not to be underestimated. Erika Mendez's subtle delivery intensity and inflection use significantly increased the humor in the dialog and situation IMHO. Can't wait for more...

It's good but definitely not as good as the main series. Part of that is the "reheated leftover" feeling where every joke is a joke that was already used in the main series/movie. Part of that is every character being very similar compare to the varied cast of the main series. But also, Part of that is the lack of goofy face and such. It does make me a bit worried about S3.

I feel the problem is that the series its not using Yunyun enough.

The joke with her is that she is the only normal person in the whole village, she should be everybody's straight man but the series kinda refuses to do it in order to give all the girls air time.

This creates character inconsistencies, everybody is supposed to be a chunin here but girls jump from chunin to straight man depending solely on who the writers want to give protagonist to.

A good example was the village destruction, all of the girls should have followed the whole "The demons destroyed our town" joke, when it was the adults who did, because that's how they (supposedly) were raised.

Yunyun should be the one reacting and feeling completely lost, but it was the tall girl the focus and that makes no sense for all we know about her.

Let's face it, Konosuba really works as a comedy solely because of Kazuma. Part of the fun is watching Kazuma suffer.

I think the series could work if it was a short or something like that, but there's really not much happening each episodes and everything that happens doesn't really matter that much.

Also... if your brother is dying and you need money, do ask for it, yeah asking for money from friend suck, but sibling dying suck more.

It seemed like they were all reacting to how the adults were the ones actually destroying the village until they fell in with the typical Chuuni ideology behind why they did it afterwards.

(I guess it probably helped that they fixed everything overnight).

spoiler[Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they seem to be getting to stuff I assumed was reserved for the finale.]

My takeaway was that either there was no sick brother or they planned to use the money for more than just medicine.

Hey, they do have distinct hairstyle identifiers.
Twintails=Funifura
Ponytail=Dodonko
There's also one with dog ears but honestly nobody outside of those two and Arue matter.

I also remember reading the manga which I don't know if it was the original or another adaptation, but wasn't there supposed to be a B plot about Komekko going on alongside all this?

yes, we can see thw co sequences of the plot,but not the plot directly so my guess is that they set it up as a punchline to end this arc.

too bad the reviewers did not like the couple bullying yununn for money's it was my favorite joke of the spin off and one of my favorite joeks ofnthe franchise along with megumin exploding the castle and vanirs love interest

Have to say I was disappointed Ep5 that Megumin and Yunyun "learned" magic by spoiler[tapping their Guild Cards to trade in their skill points]. What a waste of dramatic potential and since when was Konosuba a game-based world?? And now where does the story go? Seems to be leading to Mugumin's encounter with her eventual party-mates as the material for the rest of the episodes but that I think would be the least interesting story elements to concentrate on. Unless there is some other twist coming, I think the pacing and plotting are really screwed up now...

Might not be played up as much as some others, but it’s always been there — Megumin’s Explosion-only magic and Darkness’ terrible accuracy are portrayed in terms of game character balance, and Megumin’s filled in a skill card before.

Things really escalated faster than I was expecting. Megumin and Yunyun graduating, Megumin doing Explosion, etc. I thought this was all finale stuff, especially when they haven't done a lot of the school stuff I was expecting. No focus episodes for all the classmates?

At least the first Explosion was as amazing as it should be. And Komekko is such a joy to watch.
