Sure... it was an honest mistake Rolling Eyes

In a semi-relate news item, Odex's website has been hacked by an irate fan (who is smart enough to hack but not smart enough to use spell check).

I agree with kurotsuki. If Odex finds out who hacked them, that person is gonna be ruined. And the hacker obviously isn't very smart. Now Odex can expand their crusade against fansubs to mIRC/direct downloading. Rolling Eyes

Bravo Odex.

All I can say is I'm glad I don't live in Singapore and I feel sorry for all those anime fans. I hope the end is near for Odex.

"If you want a job done right, you have to do it yourself." What ever happened to saying that?

Seriously. Odex needs to be shut down. Fighting against a large percentage of potential customers and ticking them off so they'll never buy a product from you is smart. Really smart. -_-;

Education is the way to combat bootlegging and fansubs cutting into licensed shows, not lawsuits. Of course, not jacking up prices and trying to sell to a larger audience helps too.

Then again, I heard from a roommate that Odex has crappy quality transfers that look like actual bootleg DVDs anyway, so I doubt they give a crap about it anyway.

As far as I read in different news articles over the last few months, Odex is worse then 4kids + Funimation combined. They have bad video transfers, bad dubs, and bad translation. No wonder no one wants to buy their crap and I don't blame them at all. They are just trying to sue as many people as they can cause no one wants to buy their crappy releases.

Did the takedown notices sent by BayTSP claim that they had copyright under penalty of perjury?

Evidently Odex' stupidity is contagious.
