Hey, 'Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer' is a classic! Has been for many years. So much so that it's a synonymous with Xmas specials. Not to mention marketable. From Xmas ornaments, toys to collectibles. Surprised to see that on the top DVD ranking in Japan. I didn't know it was popular in Japan.
I love this feature. I had a animation teacher (who still works here at the college where I work) who was a storyboard artist on the show. When you think of 'Rankin/Bass', you can only think holiday goodness. Such nostalgia like you wouldn't believe. The correct term for this type of media is "stop motion" puppetry. |
