Article is misleading - this is about the winners of the AMV Contest, not the full contest itself. This proves nothing more than the fact that you watched the winners at the masquerade.

Is there any way to view the entries? I am curious about "The Anime Network" one, in which they used early 90 cartoon themes. Smile Having links to view the shows would be nice.

>< I tried to post and it said the topic doesn't exist.

Here is one the best AMV's with more than 50 clips or more...I did not do it myself. Just a reflection on the poster who might be interested in this.

The videos may be posted elsewhere online, such as animemusicvideos.org. ANN will only link to them if they are available on creators' personal websites.

Just out of curiousity, when someone wins an award, is there any verification that he or she is, in fact, the actual editor?

I've heard a rumor that someone claimed to be the editor of "Attack of the Otaku" and took the award. This has yet to be confirmed, mind you, but there are comments on the matter on a forum post @ animemusicvideos.org....

Yes. Because ANN never links to animemusicvideos.org.

Never. Ever.

That turned out to be false, thankfully!

If you notice, both of the links you mentioned are to the site, not to specific videos. Past policy or practice is also not necessarily any indication of what our current policy or practice is.

Speaking of AMV's, you guys wouldn't happen to know if there is a thread that's dedicated to posting AMV's on this forum or something? I've been looking around and I can't seem to find any! Are there even any? Please let me know!

They could have just as easily said, "AMV's aren't newsworthy, we're not covering this" and not covered anything about the contest. So I for one am glad that the contest got as much coverage as it did, since they aren't always included in convention reports.

Let's be accurate. It's the rare con report around here that so much as mentions the AMV contest. "AMVs aren't newsworthy" seems to be all but official policy.

We are always thinking about new things to add to our reports. Covering convention awards (both AMV and cosplay) is something that I personally am working to do a lot more of.

The only vid of The Anime Network I could find, since I was looking for it too. ^^

Most of the other winners are on amvs.org.

Claymore - Sonata Op. 1
Not really your conventional AMV... but it's unique:

EDIT: Apparently this isn't an AMV thread; ah well.
