As a somewhat huge fan of I''s, I'm happy to see I''s Pure get over here to the States. However, I'm never ever going to watch the 2002 version ever again.

I can't believe this.... Viz is actually releasing this?! Wow. There may be hope yet for those other titles that Viz still hasn't released.

Personally I think that the most surprising thing is not that it is now licensed (which is definitely surprising in its own right), but that it actually has a confirmed release date. *stares at Viz's unreleased and discontinued titles*

I'm a rather big fan of I"s as well, and while I did enjoy the anime adaptations a fair bit over the three or so years that I took to watch it all, it wasn't anything special to me, as I preferred the manga over them, particularly I"s Pure. While it's great to actually see these licensed, I'm going to stick to the manga that I already purchased, edits and all. (I liked the series so much that when I discovered about the edits, I wasn't willing to stop buying it for that reason alone.)

Uh-huh, uh-huh, and they've had H&C and NANA for how much longer? This before those two? Seriously?

Well, what I mean when I said "this" is that now we know that they're willing to release a title that isn't a shonen fighting series. I haven't exactly watched this show.

I believe that they've already dubbed those 2 titles, though (or at least started dubbing them), so it's just a matter of when will they release them.

Wow, these titles are rated low on AniDB.

In any case. That PDF says 240 minutes (6 episodes). However, 240 minutes is consistent with 8 episodes, each 30 minutes long. I checked on AniDB, and sure enough, each of the 8 episodes is about 30 minutes long.

So either this box contains all 8 episodes, and "6" is a typo, or it really does contain just 6 episodes and the 240 is a typo. Honestly, I think the former is the case.

It's possible they've had the rights for a while, and that they may have even intended to release the OVAs along with the manga, if the latter didn't end up being a disappointing seller. Plus, the anime market bubble bursting might have discouraged them from acting sooner. So I'm betting the success of similar titles for MB and FUNimation is why they're putting it out now.

Really? It sold badly, heh? You just love spreading these rumors around....

They make enough money from Naruto and Bleach that they don't have to worry about whether the "anime market bubble" will burst or not for a long time.

Quite possibly, since if this VA's web page is to be taken seriously, they've been dubbing since at the latest September 2008. (According to the page source that says her resume was last updated Saturday, September 06, 2008 3:10:55 AM)

...And actually, while typing this I realized that I have noticed this before. Apparently they've had rights since at least August 6, 2008.

As much as I loved the manga, I found I"s Pure (much like Video Girl Ai) a rather commendable effort in condensing 15 volumes of content into just 6 episodes.

I hope they include the Japanese ecchi specials for I"s Pure.
