Well, it's their own fault for putting Mazinger and Z in the same title, of course people are going to get the wrong idea. I'm thinking they did it on purpose just to get a buzz going.

As long as it's still vaguely related to Mazinger Z then it's all good.

I suppose they fear that may limit what they can do due to popular expectations (people may complain "this isn't Mazinger" for whatever reason), which will never really disappear, but hopefully it doesn't prevent the staff from producing something new and taking some risks.

There's Dr Hell, Baron Ashura, Count Blocken, Koji Kabuto, Sayaka Yumi, the Hover Pilder and the Mazinger Z Robot. This is screaming Mazinger Z even if the creators don't want to admit it!!!! although I don't think most of us will mind another take on the property as long as it keeps the spirit of a Go Nagai Super Robot show.
