I'm glad to see it, as companies compete against bootlegging, and increase brand awareness- most anime fans I've met are very clueless about who makes anime, and who produces legit releases. This is a good promotional move on Bandai and Bandai Ent's part, hope it helps them turn a profit.

I'm wondering if Namdai will also publish any of the novels in English, too.

Gundam Unicorn?

Sounds like they're running out of names.

Gundam Unicorn has been a wildly popular light novel series here in Japan. It's popular enough that the two main mechas have gotten Master Grade releases for the Bandai Plastic Model kits, which is a pretty big deal. People in Japan have been waiting for this announcement for ages.

And it's Universal Century, which should make people squee.

Ah, my mistake.

Just sounds like a short step towards Gundam Fairy Princess. But that's just me.

So is this supposed to be an OVA series, TV series, or theatrical movie? All I know is I don't want to watch anything Gundam in what will end up being a pitiful low-quality stream.

Well, it could also be known as Gundam: Unicron and feature a voice provided by the ghost of Orson Welles. Smile

@kkofthefunkoff

Based on what I have heard, Bandai said it wasn't going to release any new Gundam series this year, so its more likely to be either a movie or OVA.

There's been no official word yet, but the initial announcement in Italy prior to the official unveiling specifically mentioned a movie.

The animeanime.jp news website reports on Monday that the Japanese studio Sunrise is planning to release its Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anime around the world simultaneously.

The thought of a genuine worldwide simultaneous release of new UC material certainly sounds exciting, but I have my doubts as to whether this'll actually be the case.
