And before anyone calls it hacking, the same people probably did this the exact same way before. It's not that FUNi's security is weak, it's that FUNi simply has none. Apparently there was tons of simple ways to fix this as well.

Come on, Funi. We love you, but you know what they say... Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I really hope they can get it together, because with Funimation being a good portion of the entire NA anime market they are the testbed/example for these kinds of projects.

At the very least, put up a honey pot with some of the most aggressive viruses and tracking software you can... Ya know, just to be jerks.

There's probably a network or server admin jobs opening up at Funi.

So ANN why are you continuing to report the leaks? It only encourages the leakers to continue.

This is the comment associated with that torrent

As I posted in the other thread, Phantom was entirely FUNi's screw up. The episode was "up" on FUNi's video site starting about 2 hours ago. You would click on it and it would start to load and it would error.

Edit: Time correction

Either FUNi has no security on their main server, or it is a server meant for the public, and someone on the inside is uploading the videos there because they got laid off or something. I'm going with inside job since FUNi would have put up security on the server if it was one they wanted it on.

At some point, I think ANN needs to show some restraint in reporting if it only escalates the situation.

It's not really helping any imo.

The FMA thing might actually support inside job, I mean I could understand the One Piece thing, I could stand the new "security" updates being incredibly stupid, but having the actual page avaliable for public viewing?

Either Funimation's webmaster is completely incompetent or something's up.

Either way someone needs to be fired due to incompetency.

Ok, I thought you were just retarded before, but with this, I'm calling troll... Nobody but NOBODY is this much of a goody-two-shoes...[Edit: Such comments are not necessary]

Please. This is news and ANN's job is to report the news.

Go troll somewhere else.

I was just joking, but I guess my idea isn't as crazy as I thought. Now I feel special. Smile

Funi... I have no idea what to say... I really hope this was an inside job. I know it's unlikely but I just hope so...

Actually, I think that this is bordering on being irresponsible.

It only escalates the situation. It's of virtually no benefit for people to know unless it results in a series cancellation. It only serves to have people come online and show how better they are at website security and streaming.

I'm sure that FUNi prob knows about this. Did ANN graciously attempt to inform FUNi of the torrent or are they relying on FUNi's forum monitoring-fu skills to let them get the info?

Edit: These people are doing it for their internet fame and you guys (ANN) are handing it to them on a silver platter.
