Yeah, I think that 200,000 is a good number to print. I can't imagine TOO many people wanting this other than for collector's purposes.

The low release volume isn't anything to concern myself with. Good Gundam is enjoyable without technical knowledge of the equipment used; I'd rather allocate my funds towards seeing the Mobile Suits in the series for which they became renowned. Of course, many mecha otaku would perhaps be inclined to take issue with my attitude.

True, but Gundam is a franchise because of the model kit otaku, not the people who watch the anime. A lot of overlap, of course, but if Bandai can't sell model kits, no new Gundam gets made.

This. Also, truth be told, a lot of what kept me into Gundam as long as I was actually wound up being the incredible world-building that the various shows' creators did around the stories. The technical detail behind the mobile suits, the world histories, the political backgrounds, I'm a big fan of world building and Gundam had it in spades. Which is good because the actual story writing in most of the series was phenomenally weak without it.

Yeah. The tech specs for the Double Zeta were more interesting than Gundam ZZ for me. Not to mention all the nitty-gritty on Minovsky particle physics--which, AFAICT, never got fleshed out in the actual anime; AMBAC; etc. And my all time favorite: Newtypes are not espers.
