Wow, this is the first time you've reviewed Blade of the Immortal! Has Dark Horse just never sent you any before?
Anyway, I just loved these volumes, 20 more than 21. You're absolutely right that the action sequences are hard to follow. I'm glad that they went with panel rearrangement rather than just plain flipping, but it does get a little baffling, especially because you're tempted by habit to read it right-to-left. But man, I'd give it higher on plot than you did! This was a total joy to me to see the plot play out like this, with so much drama and action; Samura really has come a long ways from the less polished early era of the series. Next volume doesn't come out until January... I hate waiting like this! |
