Second reaction: I'll believe it when I see it. Third (and most important) reaction: I can't friggin' wait for the R1 DVD release. Definitely my most hotly anticipated licensing announcement. |

This one will probably be a while. The licensing fees they are asking are apparently quite high and most of the licensors they've discussed it with have passed. However, there is still some hope for it, though I imagine it would be at least several months before an announcement was made. |

I still wonder wether the block is more to do with the OP than anything else, as it's possibly NSFW. As it's easier to cover themselves by just blocking everyone, than working out which countries don't alow nudity and they'd actualy need to block.

Yup, called it. I had a feeling this series had fan service based of the image. Wild guess, the characters aren't 18 or even close to the age? Well this is one part of the anime spectrum that I just don't want to understand or watch. I am all for weird anime (to a extent) but I do have limits. |

There's multiple scenes of Bakemonogatari that feature characters under 18 (or heck, 16) involved in heavy fanservice, so you would be quite right in that guess.
Anyway, I'm happy that this series is finally ending. Other than the outstanding Suruga Monkey arc, the series was really disappointing for me. |

Been tossing around the idea of checking out the series and maybe referring the series to a friend if it were good. But since the characters are under 18, there is no way I'll watch this. Last thing I need is to be caught with that stuff. |

The main characters are 17. There's also not much service, excepting a shower scene and some sugestive stuff during Nadeko Snake. Assuming you mean Shinobu there, she's a very minor character and is probably much older spoiler[she's a vampire, they don't exactly age] No the OPs likely the problem, not the actual show. It contains live action nudity if it's the same as for 14. That would be a problem in some places. |

If it makes you feel better, the girl featured in the picture on the news post is over 500 years old. She's quite legal if that's what you're worried about. Bakemonogatari is one of the best anime of 2009, it's worth checking out... |
