I named one of my dogs Lita after Sailor Jupiter.

Japan should be incredibly thankful this is just a poll result and not an actual list pulled from birth records.

For I have a feeling numbers 2 and 3 on the male list will contribute significantly to the population decline.

Any male introducing himself as "Cloud" had better be carrying a ridiculously large sword so people get the message laughing at the name has consequences.

Meh. Those names suitable for naming your electronics and pets (I do named my computers =3). I would rather name my child something meaningful and traditional.

I'm actually pretty impressed that list stayed pretty reasonable - a lot of those names are already well used (Sakura, for sure) and some might require a change in the way they're written, but not too bad.

Really, how is Cloud any worse than Moonbeam or Rain? If I met a "Cloud" my first guess would be that he was unfortunate enough to have a couple of hippie parents.

Sounds like I am cursing my own children if I name them after Touma (Index) or Nagisa (Clannad)...

This would be my first though too, actually. I know Meadow's and a girl named Earth. It's weird but not Jigglypuff or anything!

I'm also surprised that Sousuke was associated with Full Metal Panic before Naruto?

I have a cat named Kanone, after the guy from Spiral. If I have a son, I'll name him Wolfram!

Funny story. I was looking at a list of names of the new incoming students to my school and one of them was Nagisa. I was like, ooh I wonder.... (My school has international students, it's a boarding school.)

I really hope you never have a son... for his sake...

Nagisa doesn't really sound like an unusual name to me... the only name on that list that would get me worried is Nanoha... I don't think I've ever hear of someone who was actually named Nanoha.

There is nothing to be surprised about, the one named in Naruto is Sasuke, not Sousoke. And Dengeki is mostly aimed at 20-30 years old people, that's why there isn't much shounen title.

Isn't the word "nanoha" just Japanese for "rapeseed" (the plant, Brassica napus)? It probably wouldn't be all that different from naming your kid "Rose" or "Lily"... or, for that matter, "Sakura".

Note: I do not endorse naming your kids Rapeseed.

Nanoha... I should stay away as far as possible (someone who makes friends by shooting them...)
