So, was Mitsudomoe Season 2 shortened to 8 episodes after bad DVD sales or was it always planned to be this way? Because I've heard different people saying different things about this. Though it would be a shame if the DVD sales were bad, I can see how these little girls saying vulgar things wouldn't fly with a lot of otaku.

Haha, I was looking up the new season's animes, and I came across the site for Freezing. I saw two girls on the webpage---one with reasonably-normal body proportions, one...without, both with their skirts flipped up, of course---and got the heck out of there. xD

Nichijou is gonna be a big hit...kinda obvious~ But it just seems so boring. Like I could see the same thing if I went back and watched Azumanga, which I probably won't. I just wish KyoAni would do something action-y! T-T I may give it a shot, but if it's just a classic school comedy bit, I'm gonna be a little ticked. (No offense to anybody who likes it, it's just a first impression that may be proven wrong.)

And Ashita no Joe...I've never watched the anime version. First I heard of it was in Bakuman. But it sounds so much like the Japanese version of Rocky, and I'm a big Rocky fan myself (seeing as it's kind of a must-watch around my hometown). Huh...

You're a little late, KyoAni. They already made Azumanga Daioh like ten years ago.

But does anyone in Japan still remember it? 10 years is a long time.

Besides it's KyoAni. They seem to have good luck with this type of material.

I would propose that the situational vulgarities of Mitsudomoe are no more offensive to otaku sensibilities than visual fanservice, about which I expect otaku to make few complaints.

The reasoning that "A show with the concept of X has been made, so another show with the concept of X can't be made" is kind of ludicrous. Kind of like saying:

"You're a little late, Skyline. They already made Independence Day like 14 years ago."

"You're a little late, Tangled. They already made Shrek like 9 years ago."

etc etc...there are certainly way better examples than this.
