I agree with Kadokawa Shoten discession there is to much censor of anime on the television already take Ani-Monday and Cartoon Network they censor female nudity even though the programs air afther 11pm. I think this redicluios and inslult to the maturity of their audience IFC does not do this and I like their stance on this issue. I hope the above cable channels change their policy soon and respect their viewers intelligence and maturity and I hope Kadokawa Shoten and the other anime companys win this inportant issue.

That's quite the statement to make. Kudos to Kadokawa for taking a bold stance against this bill. They'll make some publicity for this while TAF will suffer from loosing a major, paying supporter.
You're comparing two entirely unrelated and very, very different things here. You're comparing minor censoring on a couple American networks that don't allow nudity (and strong language) of any kind in the fist place while unedited alternatives exist, to an attempt to censor and sanitize a large chunk of the Japanese entertainment industry including anime, manga, and video games of things like sex, violence, and homosexuality. If you want to compare it to something compare it to California's multiple attempts at banning and further regulating the creation and sales of video games with adult themes, but be sure to multiply it by 100 when you do. Why? Unless the bill affects people personally, no one else gives a damn. As for Kadokawa's actions, this isn't the way to address the bill and it only serves to affect those anime fans who are going to the fair. Personally, I find it poetic justice Kadokawa, as well as other publishers and distributors, find themselves on the receiving end of facing a group who seeks only to control content regardless what the market wants. |

Kadokawa probably had a more behind the scenes influence but their actual floor presence didn't have that much for the fans outside of their goods store which had a few special guests.

I agree with Petrified Jello that boycotting displays at an anime fair really only punishes the fans who plan to attend the fair.
... Buuuuuuut don't let it get around that I agree with something he wrote, mmmkay? |

For the few comments I have seen in the past, some think this whole law thingy is not such a big deal (wishful thinking) and even if it turns out to be a big deal, it's all good because it'll annoy pedophiles (also wishful thinking). |

Since TAF is supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, I suppose the point is to keep fans from attending. It's not like Kodokawa products can't be bought somewhere else though. |

I think it's less about people not caring and more about people tired of discussing it. Sankaku also has a lot of articles relating to this, as well as some of Ishihara's very controversial statements (telling people who read manga to get girlfriends and that homosexuals are pitiful and genetically defective). If you hop over there you'd see that there are already tons of comments for some of the other stuff, so as I mentioned it's not that people don't care
