WTF? Are you kidding me? I thought the American right wing was bad.I remember going to a church service on 9/11 and the pastor was talking about how it was America's punishment since we were not fasting and praying enough. My family immediately got up and left and went to a candlelight vigil at another church instead. I think this guy needs to go join Jerry Falwell.

Shame, shame on you...

I've seen people go on about Pearl Harbor on Facebook.

I've seen someone go on "Marvel vs Capcom 3 sucked, Japan deserved this" on a forum.

...And now this, and this is so far the worst. Of all the people who would be criticizing Japan during such a horrendous disaster, you'd think someone from over there would be the last person to criticize. And then we get this?

Wow... just... wow...

I kept quiet during the anime and manga censorship news, but this makes me rage.

If it was divine punishment then Ishihara wouldn't have survived the disaster. Please get this guy out of office already.

Good for Yutaka Yamamoto, shame on Ishihara. This is by far the worst thing he's ever said, and it's bad enough coming from anyone. To have this come from an elected public official while they're still counting the dead? That's beyond reprehensible. I said elsewhere and say here again that this is a pathetic figure and a sad, small man.

Shut up and manage your crisis, sir.

After seeing the countless post's saying.

"It's Karma for Pearl Harbor."

And being a American sadly.
I felt truly saddened by this.
Because People overlook what we did to them.

If that is Karma for what Japan did to us during a war nearly a decade ago.

Then America has a fate much worse for it.
They may have attacked pearl harbor, and killed hundreds.
But dropped two nuclear bombs onto Japan.
And killed thousands where they would be standing in a puddle of blood.

We are swimming in a ocean of it.
It is up to us as human being's now to face that hate we carry towards each other confront it and let it go.

As long as we continue to hate each other and push each other away.
Nothing in this world will change that hate will just cause more war's and more suffering!

HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THE WORLD REALIZE THIS!
WE GOT TO STOP THE FIGHTING AND BAND TOGETHER AND REBUILD THE WORLD WITH LOVE INSTEAD OF HATE.
Only then can we seize the promise for a better tomorrow.

Yeah, well. I think 'selfish' is the last word a reasonable person would apply to the Japanese in the wake of this disaster. There has been no rioting, no looting, no violence of any kind. They have shared what little they had, or could find, among themselves and they have been very patient under extremely trying circumstances. The reaction of many other societies would be far different, I fear.

It is evident that this man has little knowledge of his own people.

I only have one thing to say:
What an insensitive jerk you are, sir, you're supposed to be encouraging your fellow Japanese, not saying "You deserved this!" Ugh! I thought politicians over here were bad, but this takes the cake.

Love and peace is a nice thought, but let's face it, the world is without its wars.

...That is what Tezuka's manga had taught me, and it's practically a reality.

And, not that I support wars or anything, but I think you're going way too over the top with that post.

I'm at a loss for words on this one. I do believe Ishihara just put himself out of a job with this statement. It's one thing to make statements where small percentage of the population may (or not) agree, but to use religion as a foundation to justify the worst natural disaster in Japan's history is the worst thing he could have done.

I suspect we'll see another news announcement from ANN coming within the next 24-48 hours of the backlash against this statement.

And to Ishihara I say "Baka no shiri, hidori tore wate na uesenai."

Omg. What an eff-ing douchebag. How can he say that about his own people, that is pathetic beyond words. It, honestly, makes me feel like puking.

Thank God for Yutaka Yamamoto.
