You can use as a proxy: 150.46.41.61 port 80 (Okayama University)
i.e. in firefox Preferences: Advanced -> Network -> Settings

though the video doesn't really show anything. It's just her recording session but without the actual song!

Anyways I love Yu Kobayashi. One of my most favorite seiyuu. Her voice which has a quality that's very recognisable. Her serious roles are great (Sora no Woto, etc) but it's the crazy or eccentric roles (Gintama, Seitokai Yakuindomo, etc) that I really enjoy. I was surprised to find out she's also an animator Shocked

Dude, Yu Kobayashi the voice actress is a totally different person from Yu Kobayashi the animator. There are thousands of Japanese women out there with the name of Yu Kobayashi.

Don't trust everything in ANN Encyclopedia just because it's convenient.

Ah, I thought that was strange. So you're saying that ANN is actually not "The Internet's Most Trusted News Source " ? Very Happy

You mean, "most trusted ANIME NEWS source". Well, it's the ANN Encyclopedia that has the problem. There are so many mistakes compounded over a long period of time that it's difficult for Encyclopedia editor to correct all mistakes. Just like many English language anime websites, ANN Encyclopedia is really weak on the production people in Japan because fans who submit the materials are language bound. Simply put it, most cant' read Japanese and don't do enough research to support their claims.

I don't have much problem with ANN daily news coverages. They are organized news site with editors who supervise writers to include accurate and verifiable sources. In my opinion, only downside is that ANN doesn't seem to have resource for someone to cover Japan full time in person. Going to events like Tokyo Anime Fair once a year doesn't count as full time.

In Kobayashi's case, the only way a user could have differentiated between the two was by entering the animator's credits as "Yuu Kobayashi" (or Yuh) instead of Yu*. Of course, you tend to run out of options pretty quick if it's a really common name (look at the Osamu Kobayashi page + error report at the top). Even if a user knows full well that there are multiple people on one profile, only, like, 2 people on this site can split them off.

Even if you know the language, that doesn't mean you can get the names right every time. Reading kanji names, especially those with only one character, can be difficult.
* Well, there is another way, but you might get into trouble by using it....

I don't consider myself the expert in Japanese language. You're right about reading names correctly. Even Japanese themselves make mistakes. Anyway, there are information out there how own read names correctly. It's all about where to look. More language bound you are, less like to find right information you need. That pretty much applies to Japanese production people which their English language info is very limited.

My main point is that fans are ultimately responsible for correct entry. Confusion arises when fans submit their entry without correct heading and references to back their claims.

If people submit entry of Yu Kobayashi as an example, then Yu Kobayashi the what? Yu Kobayashi the actor or Yu Kobayashi the doctor? It's up to fans to submit pictures, news articles, blog entry, interviews and etc to support their claim. People are still sending entries without references, which is causing backlogs of unverified entries in ANN encyclopedia.
