Hope they don't dub it.
... oh right.
Hope they don't make a crappy dub. I think it might be too late for that LOL!

Copied from the Funi boards.

"To be honest, Angel Beats! is the only anime that I've seen that I just wanted to turn off halfway and not watch anymore. The only thing keeping me from doing that was Yui and Hinata going at it. Other than that, this anime just purely sux. But I ended up finishing the whole thing. It just wans't that interesting and I felt it was a job to go through the episodes. Im proud I did finish the anime, but the anime still is the worst I've ever seen. However, character design is awsome though. Ill give them props for that. But the anime just blew donkey balls to me. Ok... maybe I shouldn't say sux. But I didn't have the enjoyment level like I do with other animes.

With this said, I have a wall scroll of Yuri above my bed and a pillow that has Tenshi naked with her wings covering her boobs and her smiling at you by my bed."

I may get the R1 release anyways though.

I'll be getting it since I do like the series. Problem that I have with the series is the vision Jun Maeda had couldn't fit within 13 episodes and thus felt rushed.

Adaptation of Jun Maeda's light novel series to be dubbed into English, released on DVD/BD

Angel Beats! can't really be said as an adaptation. Given that it's what they call a "media mix" project, there isn't really an original. Confused

Leaving that aside, though, it's nice to see that Angel Beats got licensed and is getting a BD release. I was going to buy the Japanese ones, but maybe I'll settle with this.

I like Sentai, but their dubs and limited/collectors editions leave much to be desired. I'd love a nice artbox like with Air and Kanon at least, not like those crappy Clannad DVD releases.

I agree that this series felt rushed near the end but I still enjoyed it, ever since Sentai went back and dubbed both Clannad seasons and movie I knew they would eventually get Angel Beats!
Being a big fan of Key adaptations and original anime I will gladly get this on Bluray, just hope that they include the extras/OVAs and that maybe in the future a possible 2nd season will be made.

I group this with shows like Canaan (which has an excellent dub) where it's a very good average show. I don't typically use decimals for scores, but this is most definitely a 7.5, floating between good and very good. I was going to buy the Taiwanese version if this didn't get licensed soon (or dubbed), but I'll gladly place an order for the blu-ray.

Proware is releasing art boxes for their Taiwanese release.

First one
Second one

and the third one has yet to be listed.

YEEESSSS!!!!

Finally! This is the show I've most wanted to be licensed for months now!! I think it's a fantastic show and I'll definitely be getting it on Blu-ray!

Funny, this will be the first time I've ever bought anything from Sentai Filmworks, so I have no clue how high-quality their releases are. I hope they're good, but in the end just the fact that this is coming out of Blu-ray is great for me! It's just made my day! Smile

Jessica Boone was the only excellent thing about that dub.

Very cool. I was hoping this title would get licensed soon and I'm happy it's getting a dub rather than just sub-only. Like the BD option. Good on you, Sentai - with this, Highschool of the Dead and the Clannad titles, it shows that Sentai does more than just scoop up whatever Funi doesn't want.

I'm gonna buy this puppy for sure.

I wonder about that. I'm guessing the license was expensive and Funimation didn't think it was worth it. In other words, they probably wanted it, but not for the price it went for.

The anime box sets that comes out here in Taiwan are awsome and more cheaper than the US. But, they only have Japanese voice and Complicated Chinese text, no english subs. So, unless you understand Japanese or can read complicated chinese, its a moo point. Which is why I HATE LIVING IN TAIWAN!!!! Or else I would buy everything from Taiwan and forget about the US anime industry.
