This show looks horrendous, and people have told me it's horrendous. I wish anime where nothing interesting happens would stop being popular. What happened to scifi and fantasy titles? Rolling Eyes Since "working" is now an anime, I can see the next big hit:

"Staying at Home." Watch a cute moe girl sit on her couch for hours at a time, reading a book and slowly sipping her tea. It'll probably get 200 episodes easily.

Question: why Wagnaria instead of Working for the American release? Copyright conflict?

Oh wow, seriously? Mad Dammit, I yelled in joy when they put up a trailer and thought that are adapting the web manga version (Nekogumi) instead of the magazine-serialized one (Inugumi), and it turned out to be one of the biggest troll ever to a fan. Oh well, Tomatsu sounded nice as Hana.

A secondary guess..."Wagnaria" is a much less competitive search term than "Working." Wink You might find that silly, but better internet branding is (as I've heard) one of the major reasons why SciFi is now SyFy.

Either you're april fools trolling or you didn't watch the show. Stuff actually happens in Working!! , they actually move around. It's a great comedy anime, one of the better in the last few years.

The April Fool's joke was that they are releasing new Working!! in VHS format. It had links to fake story, fake characters and fake staff, which are no longer available.

The page for the joke trailer still exist. Unfortunately, the trailer is also no longer available: http://www.wagnaria.com/trailer/

EDIT: Trailer on Youtube

1st one is fake VHS release and 2nd one is 2nd season

Actually, that makes perfect sense. You want yours to be near the top of Google.

(with a more ribald twist, this is part of why the magazines that is now Canadian History changed its name from The Beaver)

Hey, awesome. We've had quite a few good anime getting sequels lately, haven't we? Add this one to the list.

A very good epic fantasy was released at the same time as Shiki and it did just as poorly in Japan. At least Shiki did slightly better by being picked for a North American release, but considering that its budget seemed higher than Legend of the Legendary Heroes it's not that better off. I'll be surprised if LOL Heroes isn't eventually picked, considering that we've had other poor epic fantasies getting releases (namely the recent Guin Saga and Tears to Tiara), and I do consider LOL Heroes far superior to those.

Double bonus! 2nd season, PLUS Blu-ray of the first season!

Wonder why it took them so long to realize how popular the series is.

US release didn't happen until recently. Also popularity isn't the same as money, so you can probably assume it's doing well in North America.

Wow, they actually move around! How exciting! And this is actually what I want to do after I get off work! Watch other people working! Talk about fun!

You know you can do anything with animation, anything. However, all we get from Japan now is brain dead slice of life shows. If there has been problems with the anime industry lately, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what is wrong.

And yes, I'm trolling becuase I have an opinion different than yours. I love that's the first thing you go to. God, I love otaku. This is why they're taken so seriously by everyone else includng the over all nerd community. [/sarcasm]
