Great, now let's just hope that:
a. It isn't terrible
b. Atlus starts working on Persona 5 or a new SMT game

Oh, looks like the Mayonaka site has a trailer up now. It also automatically redirects to the official site at the end of it. Neat. But why did they change the MC's name from Souji Seta to Yu Narukami? The fans have been using the first one for the past three years.

Wait, why didn't Persona 3...oh wait, that's right, Trinity Soul, dammit, well I hope they make one for 3 too, that is actually Persona 3 and not "inspired by" Persona 3.

And they'd better get Romi Paku for Naoto again! The entire cast really, that would be awesomeness!

I smell an airing, a licensing, and a dubbing.

Considering where this franchise stands in the US, there's no way Us companies won't take advantage of this.

One thing though, it better keep the voice actors!

I mean Troy Baker's take on Kanji was both professionally sound, and flat out hilarious.
"Oh...! What you're trying to say is 'Kanji, will you please beat the shit outta me?' Is that right?!"
Favorite line in the whole game.

Even though, Aniplex will basically license this, I do hope they'll pull off everything to give it fair treatment.

OH GOD, THIS!!! Another example is Laura Bailey's Rise sounds so natural compared to Rie Kugimiya's which is....well squeaky as hell.

Looks like they got the original seiyuu (as expected)

Just hoping they would not do this badly although the record for video game to anime adaptation has been pretty bad.

They might have to recast Adachi or the main character since JYB voiced both of them.

Anyway, good news. I wonder how much they'll be able to cram in since inevitably content from the game is going to have to be cut. I can already see the Social Links being excised for obvious reasons. Also, they should SO keep the honorifics in the dub

Video game adaptations are almost always terrible. The studio doesn't have to create a decent product because they know that the fans of the video game are going to buy it regardless.

Looking at the list of projects AIC ASTA has done, I don't expect this mindset to change.

Well my favorite line would be:

"So, uh... someone's killing people with a TV ... ? What, is he beating them to death".

Troy baker's delivery's just perfect. Damn I'm gonna play the game again for the anticipation of the anime which probably won't air until next year but who cares!

I'm so excited! I can't believe I missed the opening. I went to the countdown, and it said 00:00:22, which I thought MAYBE meant hours. Man, was I wrong. CURSES, I COULD HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN, BUT NOOOOOOOO. Oh well. I'm super excited for the anime. I hope maybe there's some pairing love in there. Like, you know... SoujixYukiko, YousukexChie, KanjixNaoto... And maybe some P3 cameos! And yes, a P3 anime (NOT TRINITY SOUL. I COULDN'T BEAR TO WATCH IT) would be nice.

So true. I love P4, but I also love Disgaea, and that didn't stop its anime from sucking ass.

At least Shoji Meguro is doing the OST, so we can count on epic music if nothing else.

Not sure how to feel about this since I love the game so much that it would kill me to see them screw it up. Wait, so Souji is now Yu Narukami? What's with that?

I agree with you guys about needing the original cast for a dub. P4 has the best dub of any Japanese video game I've played, in my opinion. Almost everyone is spot on and so natural. They even make honorifics in English sound completely normal.

THis is awesome news. I didn't like Trinity Soul. But they're going with a direct adaptation this time it looks like, so I'm hoping for best. It should be more action focused which is what Trinity Soul greatly missed.

Now let us commence arguing about which romantic relationship is obviously the better pairing. Razz

Worth mentioning that today, April 11th, 2011, is the in-game date that Persona 4 started on.

Well, it was technically the 12th in Japan when the announcement was made, but whatever.
