Should there be any interest, Sheehan did confirm during the Q&A portion of the panel that we can expect physical releases of Spice and Wolf season 2 in summer of this year, and Strike Witches season 2 in fall of this year.

IT'S OVER 9,000!!! Thanks a lot Vegeta. Seriously though, it is great to hear that they raised $9,000 for Japan. They'll be on their way in no time. About the Sailor Moon thing...Yeah, sorry people but it probably won't be re-licensed. It would be great if it did, but it might not happen. Toei is asking for an insane amount of money for it. On the one hand, if you want Sailor Moon that badly, just try to find the out of print DVDs. You might be able to find them for a decent price on ebay, or you could even run into them, at least used, at an F.Y.E. You'd be surprised at what you could find there. That girl did not need to behave the way she did just because Sailor Moon couldn't get re-licensed. |

...This is starting to make me lose some faith in the sanity of the anime fans nowadays. 
However...at least there's more definite confirmation on Spice and Wolf II. Yes, I'm very anxious to get my hands on this and watch the dub of these episodes compared to the subs, but hey, I rather them release it with the OVA instead of just the episodes they have streamed. |

Oh this is quite normal. A good percentage of people who go to industry panels are full of bizarre misplaced rage (that thankfully is usually only made manifest in profuse sweating and stammering once they get up to the mic.) |

Also that Strike Witches S1 would be out on blu-ray, during the SotI panel. I sat through all of the Funi panel until the Q&A, but when the first two questions were "Why didn't you return my email?" and "Are you gonna license Sailor Moon?," I just left. |

Toei can't be asking for too insane an amount if other countries are willing to pick up the rights.
I think it has more to do with the actual terms...as in, can they get it put on TV or not. The bizarre thing there seems to be why on Earth Takeuchi-sensei is refusing to sign off on new dubs being created. Remember, Battle Royale never got licensed in the United States until now because they wanted a theatrical run, which only became possible thanks to a new 3D version of that movie. |

But Italy and Germany aren't the US, and while I'm no insider, I'd be willing to go out on a limb and say that Sailor Moon was a bigger success here than there, making the US license much more expensive. It wouldn't be the first time huge sellers got releases in other countries before the US. |

Agreed. Funimation has tried to get us Sailor Moon but if they can't then its out of their hands. Yes it sucks but throwing fits at the companies is not going to change that. You are only making yourself look like a tool. |

If Funimation does not finally announce when Darker than Black: Ryusei no Gemini is coming out by Otakon, with a definitive "lithoscribed" date, I will be having a similar conniption. Hell, if Funimation hasn't released DtB by Otakon, I'll be hard pressed to restrain myself.(The DTB original theme song comes to mind.) Now that Jason Liebrecht has finished up his work on that hideously overrated Eden of the East series, Funimation has no excuse left.(Though that excuse was already quite thin.) They're already 2 months late, and the show is 2 years old. Honestly guys, this is ridiculous. They can put out 12 episodes of execrable material like Jyu Oh Sei, but they can't do DTB? Ludicrous. After such a wait, there had better be extras on that DVD. R$$%#$ #%#%# #%#%# Barbara Streisand! So, what did Funi say about Excel Saga? Are the ADVid notes gone? If so, what value do we get for their loss? Are the easter eggs still there? This is rather important to know. I take it they made no mention of their Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 rescue release? Has there been any mention of it since they announced the license acquisition? Oh, and they're going to erect a Pay Wall on their streaming site? That seems a large step backwards. CrunchyRoll showed that people will pay for anime, so did Anime Network, but few fans will want to pay for all of those sites. Fragmenting the anime streams and putting them behind paywalls is massively inconvenient--more inconvenient than BitTorrent. To get the "premier" anime streaming experience, I have to pay for CrunchyRoll, The Anime Network, Hulu Plus, and soon Funimation?! Am I missing any? That sure sounds a lot more costly than torrenting to me. One step forward, 2 steps back. |

For anyone who was there, did they mention anything about Index or Railgun? I know Spice and Wolf II has been held up by them getting the extra's, I was wondering if either of these were getting the same treatment.

I'm curious about something: What the hell does a little kid know about the impact of Sailor Moon and the nostalgia it brings to older fans? If anyone should "dress down" Funimation and Toei, it should be someone who grew up watching it on TV after school and/or collecting the DVDs as they came out, not some little kid that watched it either through digital fansubs or their parents' DVD collection a couple years ago.

The word was still "waiting for Geneon Universal to update us". GU is the one keeping us in the dark here on that license (as well as Shakugan S2/movie/OVA, Black Lagoon: RT, Hellsing Ultimate V-VII), not FUNimation. Also, I can understand a child not having maturity in that department, but I would hope others would not naively criticize FUNimation regarding Sailor Moon, since we don't know fully know the situation there. |
