I hope they tried to keep Peter Reynolds's art style and character designs. Half the appeal to fans of picture books is the art, and they're more unlikely to purchase the animation of it if it's not the same.

I liked the book's illustration. Moe style tends to isolate mainstream audience and it has kind of unsavory rep for Japanese animation art to general public.
