I'm trying to figure out if Aniplex is becoming super incredibly awesome, or if I should be scared of a future where anime will eventually reach Japanese prices. (and possibly fearing more shows with Bang!Zoom dubs... which have decent actors, but I'm NOT a fan of their directors).

Yeah, that is what I am worried about. I am not prepared to pay 400 dollars for this even though Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal is one of my favorite anime of all time.

F*** YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Thank you Aniplex for this late birthday present (as it was yesterday). Now i have a reason to buy the series & Director's Cut OVA set. Hope the prices are reasonable enough to pre-order each Blu-ray release on the same day.

EDIT:

Quote:
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal will cost US$64.98, while the other two Blu-ray releases will each cost US$54.98.

Not bad, i'll most likely pre-order each separately but i'll definitely buy them.

I am a huge fan of WHAT Aniplex is doing. I'm not, however, fond of HOW they go about it. I mean, I love having these simultaneous releases, but I still hate Japanese pricing, especially with the Dollar to Yen really sucking. I'd prefer the Baccano method of releasing the leftovers in a cheaper (albeit still nice) packaging so to cut down on the price.

During its panel, Aniplex acknowledged that negotiations are ongoing for licensing both Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari. Aniplex added, "Stay tuned."

This, however, makes me very happy. What this means to me is that they're negotiating with a US distributor, who will charge US prices, who will get my money (unless it's *snicker* Bandai *snicker*).

Oh boy. Anime hyper My brother would absolutely scream in joy if they announced the license of Madoka. Definitely will be interesting to see if they get these titles, especially with knowing how popular and well-wanted they are.

I'll pick up Tsuiokuhen just need to see what I can cut back on for the month, not particularly interested in Seishounen or the movie. Superb news on the Madoka and Bakemono fronts however.

I'd be quite thrilled if an announcement on the licensing of Madoka and Bakemonogatari was made by the time AX rolled around, or during AX. I've been wanting to give someone my money so I could get a copy of Bakemonogatari with english subs.

YAY!!! They better dub Madoka Magica...or have Hynden Walch as Madoka or some butts will be kicked! She was great as Yutaka from Lucky Star, so Madoka would be right up her alley! Very Happy
