I understand Final Fantasy, but it's kinda weird that Disney would actively seek out someone who worked on Shuffle and market their art here, and not Japan. Of course, they worked with Madhouse, too, but that company's at least done some children's stuff.

I never really thought her designs were all that special. In fact, they're kind of plain, so I'm surprised she's hooked up with Disney.
Makoto Uno would've had...interesting designs if he would've been selected. Snow White and the Double Gs. |

That tinkerbell illustration is beautiful. However, Nishimata's faces tend to all look the same, although I guess one could look at that drawback as sort of her signature.

I can't really say that her style is outstanding or even unique enough for me to consider her as a collaborator with Disney to design prints. I'm glad for her in that Disney finds her worthy of being the artist of a line of their products though. The Tinkerbell picture is decent, and I hope she will make even better images of other Disney princesses. (Mulan please!)

May be a bit hyperbolic, but it's not exactly untrue. The original Shuffle VN was pornographic, I believe. It is a bit unfair to pigeonhole someone as a just "porn artist" because they've done some explicit stuff, though. |

Nah, I'm just not particularly familiar with the artist in question. I do know that some notable people have worked on explicit VNs and doujins though, so I was speaking more as a general rule. You shouldn't dismiss people just because they've done work on those things. Heck, even if they've only done work on those things, it's still possible they could be very talented. Though none the Nishimata designs I've seen particularly stand out to me. |

I'm a little surprised that this is the print Disney chose. The background is lovely, but the way Tinkerbell is drawn just seems "off". I couldn't care less if she's curvy or not, but the dress is drawn funny - it looks like it has some strange type of underwire issues in the chest area.

No-one here is saying working on porn makes her less of an artist. But Disney is famously uptight and prudish so it came as much of a surprise to me (and other posters) as well to see an eroge artist working with them. I wonder who set that up... |
