I'm disappointed that there will be no shot at the good old Saber/EXTRA figma, but I am extremely happy that Fate/EXTRA will be making its way to the U.S.

The Fate/Stay Night anime is based off the visual novel, not the other way round. The game was released in 2004, while the anime aired in 2006. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate/stay_night if you think I'm making this up.) The prequel anime series is also based off a series of Light Novels.

Otherwise, nice news.

I've often been annoyed by purists who had the fortune to experience the original VN being so vocally critical of the anime adaptation.

But I'm less annoyed these days. Live action Noir does that.

While I am a vocal purist, I don't think that you need to be one to think that the series wasn't too good.

On the one hand, these extras are nice. On the other hand, the artbook is only 15 pages, and even with both of them together, I'd expect these to be pre-order bonuses, or, at best, only $5 more rather than a full $10 more than the standard edition.

You and me both. Then again, Saber Extra is a pretty awful design. Silly dress window aside, they should have made her legs more interesting if they're going to make them visible. Give her knee-high boots, thigh-high stockings, a garter belt, something better than short boots, bare legs and panties.

Looking forward to the release of Fate/Extra CCC, already pre-ordered that one. I completely approve of the Saber Bride figma that comes with it.

Anyway, I'll be buying some version of this, though my money is kinda tight in November. I still need to play the first PSP game, though.

Yes! The design of Bride Saber is hilariously awesome. I am definitely putting CCC on priority so I can enjoy some figma goodness.

For anyone who has not seen the Saber Bride design yet,

And don't worry too much about missing F/UC if you did. It's just a few fun one-off arcade fighting stories like Melty Blood- the only one I seriously suggest is the Rin arcade mode because of the fabulous ending CG. Oh, and Lancer's story is also fun because it spoiler[is full of Bazette.]

Because the company that produced the figma has already destroyed the casts since it was a LE release in the first place and quite frankly, Americans aren't going to be willing to pay for the figma at a figma price or anywhere near the original Japanese price.
