Wait, what happened to Black Jack Aoki Mirai, the spin off by Hitoshi Iwaaki that takes place in the character's golden years? Is it still running? I've been waiting to hear news about it for months now--how it's being received, if it has a chance of being translated, when the first tankoban is due out, etc.

Is this new manga another spin-off, or just an adaptation of the made-for-TV movie (which I've heard is a modern day re-imagining of Black Jack's origin story rather than a faithful adaptation of the origin Tezuka wrote)?

I hope that this does not mean that Aoki Mirai is cancelled already-Iwaaki is a brilliant author and I had such high hopes for his take on Black Jack.
