Possibly. The manga doesn't have that twist as that relationship doesn't exist in it, but it is darker. Actually it also doesn't have the spoiler[brother-sister incest] either.

As long as the ending is not happy, I am happy. You can't actually call the ending of the korean version happy right?

And I can't help but wonder how Lee is going to make it darker, unless it be spoiler[suicide] or a spoiler[double suicide] or a spoiler[massive shootout by the protagonist followed by a suicide or double suicide]

Is there anyone you want to work with specifically?

Lee: I’ve wanted to work with [Kairo aka Pulse director] Kiyoshi Kurosawa, but he has not been making horror movies recently.

One non-horror movie doesn't necessarily indicate that trend. (Tokyo Sonata is a really good film, though.)

I wasn't interested in an Oldboy remake/re-adaption until Spike Lee was announced, and this news only makes me look forward to the film more.

Yes. Yes it is Very Happy

I am actually looking forward to this. I know a few hardcore fans who aren't too accepting of it, but I think it's important to actually watch Spike Lee's movies before one starts bashing the remake.

And I think a few remakes are actually better. The Ring (US) was way more atmospheric than the original.

Spike Lee seems to have had ab interest in the foreign market.
I wonder does he speak any other languages?
