Resident Evil is still going strong? Interesting. I thought this had died once we say Milla show live-action is better than any of the game versions.
Twisted Evil

Though, if Capcom keeps going with graphics like this, they'll not need to pay actors for movies.

I never quite got the point of cinematic trailers. The trailer is always, "look how awesome are game will never be under any circumstances ever!!" What is the appeal of that?

This game was never presented as survival horror. It was also described by Capcom and the press as a straight up action game set in the Resident Evil universe.

I've been saying R.I.P. survival horror for the past 7 years of RE games.

Even when they were hilariously billed as such.

It's not even that they took RE in new directions. It's that they took RE in new directions at the expense of almost everything that made the original games great in the first place. I miss the days when you could play as human beings. Anything for a dollar I guess.

"shit" I think they said that word like 7 times in 5 minute trailer i hope this doesn't go splinter cell Conviction on us, with the bad guys slurring 100s of f-bombs in 2 minutes of gameplay. looks kinda fun though, i'll pick it up when its price has dropped considerably .

Agreed. Most of the time when I see a cinematic trailer for a game, and it's done well, I'd rather see the trailer expanded into movie form than have any interest in the game.

Meh, who cares about genre? The main thing is that it's gonna be hell of a fun (um... i hope)! Also, why these complaints about survivor horror if the game itself never promised to be the one? Like a mere spin-off can make things worse after Resident Evil 5.

Trailer was good, especially the part with licker.

Oh hey, is this the one that plays more like an FPS, has none of the survival horror elements that made the series popular and famous, and where your goal is to kill Chris?

Yeah, screw this game.

Yes, Biohazard hasn't really been survival horror since Biohazard 3: Last Escape and Code Veronica, and even then that's questionable. Survival horror is about, well, surviving, with limited resources. 4 pretty much turned it into an over the shoulder action shooter game. The first two games were better since you have limited inventory space (really limited) and limited ammo, and no merchants or junk to buy stuff. Plus the fixed camera angle made it more tense because you couldn't just 360 around to keep an eye out, you were locked into one screen and had no idea if an enemy was just off screen.

Though some would argue even a few weapons makes it not survival horror.. and more of a game like Clock Tower where all you can do is run/hide from the killer is more true survival horror. I would be inclined to agree that a game becomes less scary when you have the option to just shoot the guy chasing you with a shotgun. Though even more cerebral games like Silent Hill (pre Homecoming/Origins) would count even with combat.. mainly because the combat sucked and wasn't the focus of the series.. in fact you were sometimes punished if you did choose to fight and kill the monsters)
