From what I understand, the story isn't that long so trying to fit it in 11 episode would be a little tough.

It would, but since LNs are known to sell quite poorly it is not likely to happen. It's a shame too. I have (a lot) more LNs than I do manga. And I think everything I've collected has been cancelled/delayed indefinitely other than the Vampire Hunter D, Spice & Wolf, and Haruhi novels. So thanks Dark Horse and Yen Press for actually releasing more than a couple volumes to read.

Anyway. Interesting to hear Shinbo say that the entire Monogatari series will be animated. Not surprising though, considering the amount of money to be made.

He never said that, and it is unlikely it will.

I don't think light novel sell well in the west. I wouldn't mind buying it.

Hey, so if it's two episodes shorter than normal and JP BDs usually have 2 episodes for disc, this means they'll release one less disc than normal, right?

Why do you say that? When Bakemono is the highest selling TV anime post 2000 and that the BD Box is the highest selling single cours BD box set ever (until the first Fate/Zero release)?

They would be fools not to do so.

"Shinbo also said he wanted to animate all the Monogatari novels and catch up with the newly published Koimonogatari."

I keep hoping that Yen Press will at least take a flier on the Monogatari LNs. But, it's easy for me to say that when it's not my money being put on the line. I'd certainly buy em, but just how many others would, well I couldn't say. I can't see them being as popular as the Haruhi LNs, not because the story isn't better, but Haruhi is more recognizable. So, I guess if the sales of the Haruhi LNs are only borderline themselves, it probably wouldn't make much sense to acquire the Monogatari LNs.

There is a difference between wanting to animate all of the Light Novels, and confirming that all of the Light Novels are to be animated. I believe that's what scineram was getting at.

Well, Shaft likes money, so unless they somehow stop selling, they will continue to make them. Bakem is the best selling TV anime of the last 10 years after all.

But they'll have to step up the rate to one a year if they want to get through them all before my hair starts turning silver. Possibly even have two-cour series, though I seriously doubt SHAFT could keep up the energy for that long without it suffering.

Depends on what you mean by "normal". Shows are 12 episodes more often than 13, and 12 episode shows are almost always six discs. 13 episode series, however, are usually seven disc releases with a cheaper first volume that only has one episode.

Nisemonogatari will likely be a six volume release with a cheaper first volume that only contains one episode. That would make it a volume less than a 13 episode series release but the same number of volumes (but slightly cheaper) than a 12 episode series release.

Lies. There will be 12, maybe 13 episodes counting the special episodes on DVD/BD releases.

No, what will happen is they'll air 9 of the 11 episodes, make up some excuse about why the other two didn't air, then when they do air them they'll censor them up so that the blu-ray will be uncut.
