wow $5000 dollars in 24 hours that's pretty amazing with 28 days to go I think this will definitely meet it's goal considering now it's at about 5800 and only need like 700 dollars more to get published

I love Tezuka... and I'm always up for more being published, but I wish that DMP wouldn't publish it in the same format they did Swallowing the Earth. It's so flimsy and the spine breaks so easily. A 400+ page book shouldn't be bound in such a way. Of course, I know this comes down to price, but I'm sure people would be willing to pay a little more for a nicer presentation

For this reason, I'm still teetering on whether to give some D: I'd jump on this if Vertical would do something like this -- maybe they've spoiled me. Nice idea, though, DMP. Glad this is working out for you.

Edit:
Gah, I'm backing it $25 anyway. I can't let this pass by.

I went for the $70 Barbara Producer Pack. FYI now it's beyond $6,500 Very Happy

@xScar
I would've gone with the $35 package! It would've gotten you the $25 package (the book and emanga titles) plus the PDF version with bonus artwork and commentary. If there are problems later on with the bindings or pages you have the PDF to fall back on. And if it's unfortunately that frail, you can "archive" the book and use the PDF for reading.

Much as I wish we could provide a PDF copy of the book itself, we can't for contract reasons. The PDF is only of the digital companion. But that companion WILL include a new essay on Barbara by Helen McCarthy and other stuff that we're still getting ready to announce.

Now this is an interesting idea, and it's great to see that it actually worked out for DMP in such an extremely short amount of time. I really do hope that this continues to be used and I'll be interested in seeing who DMP's choices for this style of licensing will go to.

Wow, that's amazing!! Definitely looking forward to reading this and recommending this once it's released. If they've got this far they should easily reach their mark. This is really great news.
