subtitled only? so a quick release then. IMO, a rather underrated anime. im assuming they wont be getting the OVA but it would be confusing to anyone that didn't read the manga. Aoi Yuki was great in this anime as well

Oh cool, I've wanted to try out this series for a while now but was holding off since there weren't any legal streams of it, shall definitely check them out when Sentai puts them up.

Well I sure hope they do.

Also, article mistake: the show aired in 2008, not 2007. And of the former, Sentai's been doing a pretty good (stellar!) job of sucking up series I watched that year that I'd lost hope for getting a release Stateside. First Xam'd, then Allison and Lillia, then ef, now this... dare I say Michiko and Hatchin is next?

Awesome licensed from sentai, i saw series, Kurenai was a pleasant surprise of a series considering its 13-episode long , bringing an engaging conflictive story revolving around charismatic and Great characters, is day one buy for me

Maybe they'll be smart and grab Denpateki as well, marketing it as a related in-universe OVA. And to be honest, I like it's characters and playout more than the Kurenai series. I certainly don't want to see any "but why didn't FUNi grab it?!!", they've had four years to grab it, it's obvious they didn't want it or never even considered it.

There's still tons of titles Sentai could conceivably pick up for a quick and easy job: Kaiba, sola, H2O, Michiko, Trapeze, Basquash, the list goes on. A few of those did abysmally in Japan, so their licenses costs can't be that high.

Sentai is on a roll this year when it comes to licensing anime that I waited years for some US company to realize the quality of, got tired of waiting for, and imported.

If this was BD, I might double dip just to show love for people licensing quality content in quality formats, but DVD only is an easy skip.

Of course, they might do abysmally here, too....

sola is still available in its Bandai incarnation --- I think RightStuf may even have it on sale.

I'd certainly buy Kaiba, Michiko to Hacchin, Trapeze and Denpateki na kanojo (good suggestion on that!). I've considered importing many of them from Australia.

Sentai seems to have found the secret path to my wallet lately, and is making repeated raids.

Wow, color me surprised. This is a series that I long expected would never get licensed. A subtitled-only release would definitely be appropriate for it because I don't see it having a very broad appeal.

I saw the TV episodes when it first came out but don't think I ever saw (or even knew about) the OVA. The series as a whole was never a favorite but I did think it was a good series.

Hm, I didn't even realize sola had been licensed. It just had so little impact. But what I meant about abysmally is that something like Michiko or Kaiba didn't even break 1,000 units sold, but I'm sure they could do better here.

You didn't miss much either way; although I'd still like to own it.

If Sentai picks up a series for subtitle-only release, "why didn't FUNi grab it" would be a silly question: they both agreed that it wouldn't work out as a dub.

Its just that Sentai's business strategy includes sub-only releases and FUNimation's does not.

Fans who were waiting for Gosick can get their fill of Yuki Aoi playing a haughty loli by buying this instead!

Actually, I think this was her breakout role and she did incredible work. Her performance + the very good animation really made this series.
