Every time I hear the show's English name I want to punch someone. Hard.
I understand licensors do these things to widen the appeal of the shows they're distributing, but that title is absolutely ridiculous. It's incensing. It's going to turn people off the show rather than attract them. I'm not even a fan of the show (haven't even watched it) and I'm pissed off. Can't imagine what actual fans must be feeling. |

No, dtm42. It's going to attract a lot more people than it would otherwise. That's why something like Sekirei can be one of FUNi's best selling anime with the tagline 'Boobies for the win' on it.

For f*ck's sake, it's been known that the Japanese right's holders demanded that the title be called "Cat Planet Cuties". I'm amazed that you people still don't f*cking know this. |

And what was wrong with Bombshells from the Sky? Nothing. I know CrunchyRoll used it, but surely FUNimation could come up with something as good as that. You know, something other than the retarded and misleading one they have used. I wholeheartedly disagree that more uninitiated people would buy a show with "Cuties" in the name than buy the same show with either the original Japanese title, the English translation of the original title, or an entirely new title that doesn't sound it is trying to appeal to little children.
Of course I don't know. I've never seen a press release or ANN article that has stated this. To be fair though I haven't exactly been keeping an eye out. If you can link to actual proof of this claim then I'll believe you. Until then, I'll treat your claim as exactly that; a mere claim, entirely unsupported. |

Although I absolutely loath the name (Seriously, the translation is "We Came To Play", not that hard to use), I will be buying this. I enjoyed the series enough when it aired to purchase it in support.

I do not hate the name so I am not going to go there with that one.
For some reason I though Greg Ayres was going to be the male lead for this series but I guess my hunch was wrong on that one. Well I already have it pre-ordered so I will be glad when I get it. |

She's in like 4 or 5 episodes. She doesn't get a solo episode or anything like that but she has multiple lines in the episodes she's in and there are some scenes totally dedicated to her and her antics. |

I want to approach this from an honest perspective of me having only seen one episode of it. None of the titles for this show, be it "Cat Planet Cuties", "Let's Play", or "Bombshells From the Sky", are going make me want to suddenly watch the rest of this show and then buy it. Especially, not if I'm prioritizing other shows in between. If this is one of those shows where if I were to say, "what's so great about this show, I don't get it?" and someone else who's seen all of it and finds it really engaging says, "oh it's really good, give it a chance" (and there is a LOT of that out there for SO many shows), well as I said, none of the titles for the show would give me much reason to suddenly care. I will say this though. "Cat Planet Cuties" is not as vague to me as "Let's Play" where that title in my head could honestly apply to any slice-of-life show featuring an all-female cast. That's how vague that translation is to me.
Anyway, I will admit I have gained more of an interest in the show. I don't know about wanting to watch all of it right now, but I'm now more interested in it and not because of any of the titles. Much of the reason I'm interested in the show at this point is because there are a bunch of newer actors in the dub I want to hear as well as Aaron Dismuke who was apparantly casted in this show way back in August when on an episode of That Anime Show, he randomly said the name of the title. |
