Every time I see this title I mistake for Aoi Hana. LOL. I may have to take a look at this series. Way to go for the director. This is what we need fresh new ideas in anime.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I hope Aniplex releases it in the States. Anohana is a simple but deep story with very compelling characters.

Definitely happy about this. AnoHana was a great series. I'm still hoping for a US release soon.

The art was very good in this anime, but I thought the story needed some work; since towards the middle and end, it looked to me like a more generic "boy loves ghost" anime which I've seen numerous times in both anime and manga in several different scenarios.

Generic, right.
It was my first time seeing a ghost harem anime.

I wouldn't call this a ghost harem show, since there is only a single ghost, and although I only saw about 3/4's of the series I didn't see all of the girls going after the main character, or for that manor, all the guys going after the ghost character with the intent of entering a romantic relationship.

As for other examples of Ghost love, one I can think of off the top of my head is; "My Lovely Ghost Kana" which is an interesting manga, if you can hang on through some of the weirder "scenes".

Next season's Tasogare x Amnesia would qualify better as Ghost Harem. There sort of a romance between the lead male and lead female, and the lead female is a ghost. Also, all of the other females are basically in love with the lead male. All from an author that is most well known for porn.

I should have re-worded my reply. (As I'm nit picky as hell -- it's a disease I tell you!) I should of just said harem, because when I think of ghost harem, I think of several ghosts trying to get into a characters pants. My bad none the less.

I also think the story needed some work. My favorite thing about AnoHana was its characters and their interactions.

I wasn't referring to the main character. I was mocking your post about "boy loves ghost" by saying ghost harem it was sarcastically implying that it is the entire cast loves that the ghost with emphasis on the ghost being the target not the members of the harem. There were no romantic relationships in AnoHana so my use of love is strictly platonic.

I also didn't call for other examples. I have no doubt that there are stories where a character falls in love with a ghost but I don't see how a couple of examples makes what was found in AnoHana a generic "boy loves ghost" story.
