Why am I NOT surprised there's going to be mecha fights in AKB0048? Ohhh, Kawamori, you're so crazy! Laughing

Yeah, I'm dropping this even before it starts. I don't want another Xenoglossia.

You know what would be weird? If this was actually good.

Excellent. It's Xenoglossia 2, as I hoped it would be. Unlike pretty much everyone else ever, I thought Xenoglossia was infinitely more interesting than the straight iM@S dope.

Also looks like it'll have impressive Macross F-esque concert scenes.

Wow. It comes out two days after my birthday. Thanks Japan, Thanks for this gift.

Also, I think the bigger news is that someone is actually using Google+. woah.

Another mecha music anime from the director of Macross Frontier. Coincidence? Definitely not.

I expect it to be entertaining but ultimately disappointing, as Macross F was to me. I'll watch it.

Which is why I'm going to read a review before watching this, if I decide to.

There's the dastardly "Chief Director" credit again. I wonder whether Shoji Kawamori or the replacement Kaleido Star guy wears the pants on its creative team.

It amuses me that Mari Okada is responsible for series composition on this and Lupin III - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, in the same season no less. It almost reads like she's hedging her bets.

From what I can tell, it seems to use a lot of computer generated imagery, which I don't regard as promising. It looks very smooth and bright and plastic. I thought that it already had enough marks against its aesthetics from its unnerving character designs. Does the, "Entertainment Prohibition Law," also heavily restrict noses and impose narrow face shape regulations?

I think that the best hope for it to be bonkers. It just seems like such an overwrought premise for such an intrinsically gimmicky series. But I won't object at all if it surprises me.

She often does multiple shows in a single season, so I wouldn't read too much into that.

Eh. Still like traditonal IM@S stuff. The gameplay alone makes me want to sell my soul to ScamDai.

Xenoglossia was fun though. Hope this is the same.

Also, mandatory
